write sing me back
you are the ground that shakes me—
a force to be reckoned with.
your warmth fills the deepest pits of my soul;
like embers, you ignite a fire within me—
one i thought had long gone cold.
to know of a love like this—
could it fill the place of a love that once was?
do i amount to enough?
i find fragments of love in the way you laugh.
when you smile, the sun feels a little bit warmer.
it’s in the way you speak to me,
the way you hold my hand.
when you reach for me,
your presence feels like home.
your voice is like that of birds when they sing.
your eyes could show me a world completely foreign.
i wonder what it’s like to be loved by you.
would you speak of me like poetry?
would you find me in melodies and harmonies?
would you sing about me—
the way that i write about you?
