or missing someone you love.
am i lovesick?
would you highlight the lines
that speak to you—
in the ways that you do to me?
would you pick apart the words
and dissect the meanings each line held?
would you write down
how they reminded you of me?
would you reflect on
how they described our love—
undying and true.
would you write about me?
they would say—
you are the type of person
others have gone to war for.
it’s as much of a war of the mind,
as it is the heart.
i have you to thank,
for tearing both of mine apart.
