almost five years later,
and i’d like to believe
that i’ve helped others heal
by reading words they longed to hear.
i’d like to believe
that i gave someone closure.
looking back now,
it was a bit selfish of me to write what i did.
i knew saying those words would ruin you,
ultimately destroying your chances
of finding love again.
is it cruel of me to say
i wish you well
while knowing
you will never find someone like me again?

and you still haven’t found someone
to replace me.
